The pack

What is PLXI?

PLXI, the file format meaning travels in, names one kind of file, the way PDF names one kind of document.

A pack is one file

A pack is one file that carries things, how they connect, and, when the maker records it, where each one came from.

A workshop can put its tools, its manuals and its timetable into one pack.

The middle of a pack is lines of plain text, one thing to a line. A person can read them.

What is inside a pack?

Why one sealed file

Everything travels together, so no part gets lost on the way. The seal shows whether anything changed after the pack was made.

A program checks the seal before it opens a pack. If the seal does not match, the pack stays closed.

What does the seal mean?

Who wrote the rules

Cintilé wrote the rules for packs.

The current rules are version 6.

Cintilé’s Lampyr uses packs to share what people know.

Can I open a pack myself?
